Importance of image quality for OCR

Captio’s process of automatic extraction of information depends largely on the quality of the image uploaded to the system. In general, you need to make sure you only upload images in which you can read the three figures that are essential for Captio: date, amount and supplier.

Avoid the following factors.

  • Blurred images
  • Poorly printed receipts
  • Stained receipts
  • Images with extreme brightness due to inadvisable use of the flash.
  • Wrinkled or worn receipts.
  • Clipped and incomplete images.
  • Receipts with additional handwritten information.

Remember that uploading an image that does not meet the established criteria may lead to an incorrect or incomplete reading.

To ensure the quality of the images that you upload to the system, you should follow these best practices.
